One of the goals of a website owner is to drive targeted traffic to their site. Listed below are 3 effective ways to do just that:
1. If you haven’t already, start Blogging! This is an excellent way to get traffic to your site. Add a feedburner and allow your visitors to keep up to date with all your posts. When you blog, mention new articles and all new content you have just added to your site. Adding a blog roll to your blog and exchanging blog links with other blogs can add a trickle of traffic to your site. A thing to remember though when exchanging links for blog rolls is to make sure you focus on your target market - exchange blog links with those who target your similar market - this gives you ca better chance at increasing traffic.
2. Write articles! It isn’t that complicated. Just write articles and distribute them to article directories. Adding your written articles to article directories increases traffic to your site because of the link backs that you will get. Authors who submit their articles to various directories, give permission to other website owners to publish these articles in their sites for free. These re-published artilces will have the author’s bio or resource box at the end of the article. Just make sure to include your website information and url in your resource box. If you are the type who doesn’t like to write, that’s not a problem - you can easily hire a ghostwriter to write the articles for you.
3. Start a Newsletter! Promote your newsletter by including an opt-in box into every page of your site and blog. Also, include your opt in page url in your signature you use in your emails and forum posts. Make sure to position your opt-in box on the upper fold of your site or blog, this way it has maximum exposure to your visitors. The more people that see your opt-in page, the more subscribers you will get. Send your newsletters out regularly so that your readers do not forget about you. You can include excerpts from any new articles you have written in your newsletter remembering to include links that direct to the full version on your site or blog.
